Do I need to give a cap measurement?
No - we now have sure-fit caps. These caps will fit the vast majority of students. If you do need a larger sized cap, you will be able to trade out your sure-fit cap on the delivery day with the Herff Jones Rep for a larger cap.

How should my gown fit?
Your graduation gown should be at a length that falls approximately midway between the knee and the ankle. It should not go below the ankle, or above the knee.

Should I iron my gown to remove the wrinkles?
NO! If you iron your gown, you can risk burning it. Instead, just hang it on a hanger for a few days, and if there are still any wrinkles in it, steam should take care of it. Always follow the directions on the cap and gown packaging.

Why do I have to pay a handling charge on my online order?
Online orders are considered Late Orders. Our Powhatan office is a sales office, NOT a retail location. Your order must be custom made and produced at the manufacturing plant and shipped to Powhatan. The handling fee we charge is for items to be shipped to our facility from the manufacturing plant, so we can provide you with the same products that seniors have been ordering since the beginning of the school year.

What happens if I do not graduate?
If you are not eligible to graduate you must contact our office in writing prior to graduation to request a refund. You can receive a refund on your cap and gown unit. The Cap & Gown must be returned to our office in 100% new condition (unused and unopened) and in the original packaging prior to graduation to be eligible. Refunds will be issued when items have been returned to our Powhatan office. Late Fees and Handling Fees are NOT refundable. Please allow 4-6 weeks for refunds to be processed.

What measurements do you need to order my cap and gown?
We want your cap & gown to fit you properly. We need your gender, height, and weight. This information is kept confidential and ensures a proper fit. Caps are one size fits all.

Will I have get cap and gown in time for graduation?
Yes you will have your cap and gown in time for graduation. If you have ordered within 14 days prior to graduation, you need to contact our office to ensure your order gets to you prior to graduation.
